- PURPOSE: This diskette provides the customer the necessary software
- utility to determine if their system contains a Pentium(tm)
- processor with the floating point correction and identifies
- the processor information such as stepping ID.

- Read this file completely before attempting to use this
- product.

- Report any problems with this utility by calling
- 1-800-426-3389.

- Run this utility from a cold boot only (Power off/on). Otherwise,
- incorrect CPU identification will result.

- A paper and pen may prove useful in recording CPU information
- and the status of the results of floating point calculations.
- Information presented to the display screen is not saved.
- Servicers will ask customers for this information.

- Do not alter the contents of this diskette.

- INSTALLATION STEPS:
-
- 1. To run this utility power off the system, insert the upgrade
- utility diskette in diskette drive A: and power up the system.

- 2. After the system boots, it will display a menu. Press <ENTER>
- to Display CPU Information. Press <ENTER> again to return to
- the main menu.

- 3. Press the down arrow key once to select Test Pentium (tm)
- Floating Point. Press <ENTER> to display calculation results.
-
- Messages highlighted in white indicates pass and red indicates
- fail condition. Press <ENTER> to return to the main menu.

- 4. Press the down arrow key once to select Exit.
- Press <ENTER> to exit and return to the command prompt.

- 5. Remove the utility diskette from the drive and power down the
- system.
