  7. This downloadable version of the JavaScript documentation is 
  8. provided as a convenience for JavaScript developers.  When the
  9. printed version is available, this electronic version may no
  10. longer be available for free.

  12. The version of PKZIP used turns all file names into 8.3 names.
  13. You must run JSRENAME.BAT to rename the files from 8.3 their 
  14. full file names so that the hyperlinks work.  To do this, CD 
  15. to the directory in which you un-zipped the files and simply 
  16. type JSRENAME at the DOS prompt.

  18. Unfortunately, if you have Windows 3.x, you will not be able 
  19. to rename the files, since it does not support long file names.  
  20. You can still view the individual files in your browser, and if 
  21. you are inspired, you can edit toc.html to point to the 8.3 
  22. names instead.
