- KNOWN PROBLEMS IN THE OS/2 CORELSCSI VERSION
- ============================================
-
- MAXTOR/RICOH 800 WORM DEVICE DRIVER
- -----------------------------------
-
- By default, the installation puts CORELDRV.SYS in the CONFIG.SYS file.
- For Maxtor/Ricoh 800 WORM drives, you must replace the CORELDRV.SYS
- device driver with 800.SYS. The device driver 800.SYS is located in the
- CORELDRV/OS2 sub-directory on this diskette.
-
- To replace the CORELDRV.SYS device driver
-
- 1. Edit CONFIG.SYS using a text editor.
-
- -- or --
-
- Use the custom configuration (available from the INSTALL main
- menu) to change the UNIVERSAL driver option to 800.SYS driver
- on the Device Driver Options screen.
-
- HISTORY
- -------
-
- Performing a file name search through the history markers may
- cause the PC to hang. If this occurs:
-
- 1. Shut down the PC and all peripherals.
- 2. Reboot the system.
- 3. Retry the file name search.
-
-
- CDCHANGE
- --------
-
- If you use CDCHANGE to access multiple CDs with a Pioneer CD-ROM
- drive, let the change complete before you try to access the
- selected CD. If the change isn't complete, you may need to reset
- the drive.
-
-
- CRC ERROR WHEN USING MULTIPLE VOLUMES
- -------------------------------------
-
- When you use multiple volumes on a rewritable cartridge,
- CorelSCSI may display cyclic redundancy check (CRC) errors
- when you try to access any partition other than the first one.
- In DVRSTAT, this error is identified as CHECK CONDITION 305,
- MEDIUM ERROR 03, SENSE CODE 11.
-
- To eliminate the CRC errors, try reformatting the cartridge
- using CFORMAT with the /LOWLEVEL and /ZERO options.
-
-
- CFORMAT
- -------
-
- If you're using an Adaptec host adapter, you may receive an error
- message while using CFORMAT to initialize a new WORM cartridge.
- This error is caused by versions of Adaptec's .ADD driver prior
- to December 1992.
-
- To obtain the current release of Adaptec's .ADD driver, call
- Adaptec's technical support at (408) 945-2550. If you have a
- modem, you can call Adaptec's BBS at (408) 945-7727. Set up your
- modem for 9600, 2400 or 1200 baud and N, 8, 1.
