  1. This CD contains a variety of standards documents gathered from a
  2. number of public sources.  Every effort has been made to arrange the
  3. files in a meaningful and useful directory structure.  Naturally there
  4. is a "misc" directory that contains things that didn't quite fit
  5. anywhere else.

  7. The directories on the disc are as follows:

  9. ansi/        SCSI specs
  10. ccitt/        1988 Bluebook and 1992 revisions
  11. dos/        DOS tools for untarring and unzipping
  12. ieee/        POSIX specs (1003.0 & 1003.2), SCSI, 802.5, and
  13.         1394 "Preliminary High Performance Serial Bus".
  14. inet/        Assorted Internet related material including RFC's, etc.
  15. iso/        Other ISO standards and Drafts
  16. misc/        Things that didn't fit anywhere else
  17. nist/        National Institute of Standards
  18.  
  19. The file "standard.ind" is a full directory tree listing of the CD.
  20. It shows every file in every directory.  The "fullindx.txt" is an
  21. alternate complete listing of the CD with annotations on most of the
  22. CCITT documents and many of the ISO documents.

  24. In the 1988 version of the Bluebook, volume 8, which covers
  25. networking, is only provided in preliminary troff files.  These files
  26. are not completely usable as provided, though much of the text formats
  27. correctly.  Many of these documents are available in the 1992 versions
  28. in Word for Windows, ASCII, and EPS formats.

  30. Both "standard.ind" and "fullindx.txt" are in MS-DOS format with lines
  31. terminated by CRLF.
