  1.          Recommendation U.10
  2.                      EQUIPMENT OF AN INTERNATIONAL TELEX POSITION
  3.                    (former CCIT Recommendation F.60; modified at New Delhi, 1960)
  4.                The CCITT,
  5.          considering
  6.                           international      telex       position       that
  7.          is a manual position in an international telex exchange and is used
  8.          to set up international telex calls should be  so  equipped  as  to
  9.          permit satisfactory operation  in  conformity  with  Recommendation
  10.          F.60 [1],
  11.          unanimously declares the following view
  12.                (1) An international telex position must be equipped in such a  way  as  to
  13.          receive the clearing signal from both sides.
  14.                (2) It should not be possible to recall the operator of that position by  a
  15.          signal to an established connection, except if Recommendation U.21 is applied.
  16.                (3) Precaution must be taken that, in the event  of  the  operator  of  the
  17.          international telex position's delaying to remove the plug on  reception  of  the
  18.          clearing signals, a new call from a subscriber on one network cannot pass to  the
  19.          other network.
  20.                (4) When  the  call  has  been  established,  the  answer-back  signals  of
  21.          equipment used at the intermediate telex positions must not be sent to line  when
  22.          figure-shift D is received.
  23.                (5) The international telex position must be  provided  with  equipment  to
  24.          determine the chargeable time of calls controlled by these positions, this timing
  25.          equipment to be brought into operation  in  accordance  with  the  Recommendation
  26.          cited in [2] but to be stopped on receipt of the first clearing signal.
