  25.     that the performance characteristics which follow should be met between 
  26. the voice-frequency ports of PCM channels coded in accordance with 
  27. Recommendation G.711.

  31.     The performance limits to be quoted are to be considered as Recommen-
  32. dations to be met in all cases.

  36.     Except where indicated otherwise, the values and limits specified are 
  37. those which should be obtained in 4-wire measurements using two PCM 
  38. multiplex terminal equipments connected back-to-back and with the 
  39. input and output ports of the channels terminated with their nominal 
  40. impedance (except where specified in ยบ3.3 below).

  44.     To avoid level errors produced as a result of the use of test frequencies 
  45. which are sub-multiples of the PCM sampling rate, the use of integer 
  46. sub-multiples of 8 kHz should be avoided.

  50.     Where a nominal reference frequency of 1020 Hz is indicated, the actual 
  51. frequency should be 1020Hz + 2 Hz -7 Hz in accordance with Recom-
  52. mendation 0.6.

  56.     For an interim period Administrations may, for practical reasons, need to 
  57. use a reference frequency of nominally 800 Hz, but slightly offset from 
  58. this value to avoid sub-multiples of sampling frequency.
