  5. Pearl Software has ported Lucid Emacs 19.4 (an extension of GNU-Emacs
  6. that provides full windowing support and programmability) to Windows 3.1.
  7. This port comes in two parts: a port of the GNU code, and an X-Windows
  8. emulation DLL.  The minimum configuration required to run this program
  9. is a 386 machine with about 8 megabytes of memory and around 10 megabytes
  10. of free hard-disk space.

  12. We provide a supported version for $199; this includes prompt support
  13. and bug fixes.  The first 200 orders will receive lifetime support.  We
  14. are also making a demo version available at no cost by anonymous FTP
  15. (see below), or by mail-order for a nominal shipping/handling charge.
  16. The demo version includes binaries for all of the components; source
  17. modifications to the GNU code are available by anonymous FTP.  You are
  18. free to distribute at no cost the binary for the demo version of the
  19. X-Windows emulation DLL, but you may not modify it or sell it.

  21. Win-Emacs is still in beta version, although it is stable enough for
  22. normal use.  We welcome bug reports, comments, and suggestions; please
