  35. \fBLreplace\fR returns a new list formed by replacing one or more elements of
  36. \fIlist\fR with the \fIelement\fR arguments.
  37. \fIFirst\fR gives the index in \fIlist\fR of the first element
  38. to be replaced.
  39. If \fIfirst\fR is less than zero then it refers to the first
  40. element of \fIlist\fR;  the element indicated by \fIfirst\fR
  41. must exist in the list.
  42. \fILast\fR gives the index in \fIlist\fR of the last element
  43. to be replaced;  it must be greater than or equal to \fIfirst\fR.
  44. \fILast\fR may be \fBend\fR (or any abbreviation of it) to indicate
  45. that all elements between \fIfirst\fR and the end of the list should
  46. be replaced.
  47. The \fIelement\fR arguments specify zero or more new arguments to
  48. be added to the list in place of those that were deleted.
  49. Each \fIelement\fR argument will become a separate element of
  50. the list.
  51. If no \fIelement\fR arguments are specified, then the elements
  52. between \fIfirst\fR and \fIlast\fR are simply deleted.
