  28. lappend \- Append list elements onto a variable

  35. This command treats the variable given by \fIvarName\fR as a list
  36. and appends each of the \fIvalue\fR arguments to that list as a separate
  37. element, with spaces between elements.
  38. If \fIvarName\fR doesn't exist, it is created as a list with elements
  39. given by the \fIvalue\fR arguments.
  40. \fBLappend\fR is similar to \fBappend\fR except that the \fIvalue\fRs
  41. are appended as list elements rather than raw text.
  42. This command provides a relatively efficient way to build up
  43. large lists.  For example, ``\fBlappend a $b\fR'' is much
  44. more efficient than ``\fBset a [concat $a [list $b]]\fR'' when
  45. \fB$a\fR is long.
