  35. Append all of the \fIvalue\fR arguments to the current value
  36. of variable \fIvarName\fR.  If \fIvarName\fR doesn't exist,
  37. it is given a value equal to the concatenation of all the
  38. \fIvalue\fR arguments.
  39. This command provides an efficient way to build up long
  40. variables incrementally.
  41. For example, ``\fBappend a $b\fR'' is much more efficient than
  42. ``\fBset a $a$b\fR'' if \fB$a\fR is long.
