  1. I posted this request a while back, but got no answer.
  2. I'm still interested in knowing whether there is a way
  3. to get newline characters visible on the screen, and
  4. a definite "No, it can't be done."  would be useful,
  5. if not satisfying.

  9. After perusing all the areas I know of to look, it appears
  10. to me that there is no way to make the newline character show
  11. up on the screen as a visible character of any kind.

  13. My problem is that I would like to be able to see whether there
  14. are trailing spaces at the end of lines of text.  While I know
  15. that setting the current point to the end of a line will show
  16. me this for that line, I would like a visible way to show any 
  17. and all trailing spaces for all lines on the screen.

  19. Can anyone either confirm that this is impossible, or point me
  20. in the direction of an answer?
