  2. I'm in the process of installing Lucid emacs 19.6 on our Sparcs running
  3. SunOS 4.1.3. I got everything to compile, but I run into problems when
  4. I try to start it. The normal emacs window is put up on the screen but
  5. then disappears immediately with the following error message:

  7. Error: Attempt to manage a child when parent is not Composite
  8.  
  9. When building lwlib.a I used only the following settings:
  10.  
  11. USE_LUCID, USE_OLIT
  12.  
  13. I'm building it against the Openwindows 3.0 include files and
  14. libraries, although I do also have X11R5, it that will solve the
  15. problem.
