  25. My understanding is that selective redisplay has been disabled in
  26. Lucid Emacs because there are some bugs in it. It is possible to
  27. enable it by setting some flags in the xdisp.c file and recompiling
  28. lemacs. Sorry, I don't know what the flags are called. Also, I can't
  29. tell you what kind of problems you might expect to encounter.
