- I agree! Old emacs (TM), using X, was almost usable over a 19.2K
- dialup line running PPP. Lemacs works fine until the menubar has to change.
- I'm running lemacs on a SLIP connection (14400 baud worldblazer) and
- I don't find it too bad. It's slow to bring up menus, but the menubar
- itself isn't a big deal.

- It's too bad that it can't load the windows for the popup and pull
- down menus once, and just cause them to become visible when they're
- asked for. Even on an ethernet connection, the menus aren't blindingly
- fast. That would probably take care of your objections.
