- Is there a way in lucid emacs to get the functionality of the
- Gosling emacs search-forward and search-backward commands, in
- particular where typing ^s or ^r require a CR after the pattern
- to start executing, and plain ^s or ^r followed immediately by CR
- search for the thing last searched for, regardless of how many
- non-search commands have taken place between the two searches?
-
- Do you really want this? I think after a short time you will prefer
- the GNU implementation of isearch. If you want to repeat a search,
- you simply type C-s or C-r twice.
-
- Yes, I really want this. I've been using Gnu emacs for about three
- weeks, and I still find the need to "break" the attention span of
- isearch so I can start typing immediately at the location I've found
- to be a non-right brain function. Thanks for the info about double-
- typing ^s and ^r, that's a help.
