  1. When I start lucid emacs 19.6 on a SUN running SunOS 4.1.3 as follows:
  2. xemacs -font 8x16 FILE, I always get the following 3 error messages:
  3. xemacs: couldn't deduce a bold version of "8x16"
  4. xemacs: couldn't deduce an italic version of "8x16"
  5. xemacs: couldn't deduce a bold-italic version of "8x16"
  6.  
  7. Then xemacs runs normally with the correct 8x16 font.  This never happened
  8. when running lucid emacs 19.4.  Can someone explain what's going on?
  9. For the short term, I will redirect error output to /dev/null, but
  10. I believe this needs to be fixed.
