  1. SET PERSONAL-NAME [text]  -  define your name, for the FROM field
  2.  
  3. The PERSONAL-NAME variable defines the personal-name part of the FROM field
  4.   in your outgoing mail.  Unlike the DEFAULT-FROM variable, it leaves your 
  5.   user ID (in <> brackets) intact, and does not generate SENDER and REPLY-TO
  6.   fields.  If the variable is not defined, your name for the FROM field 
  7.   comes from the file /etc/passwd.
  8.  
  9. Punctuation marks in personal-name may cause mail problems in replies to you.
  10.   If you need to use punctuation, put the personal-name in " quotes.
  11.  
  12. To unset it, type SET PERSONAL-NAME with nothing following.

  14. Example:
  15.   If  user abc, Aethelred B Cooper, does this:
  16.     MM>set personal-name Al Cooper
  17.   Then the FROM field will show:
  18.     From: Al Cooper <abc@cunixf.cc.columbia.edu>
