  1. WRITE  -  write or rewrite a mail file
  2.  
  3. Usage:  WRITE [filename]
  4.  
  5. Use the WRITE command with a filename to make a copy of your current mail 
  6.   file, or without a filename, to rewrite the current mail file (thereby
  7.   updating it).  WRITE does not remove deleted messages.
  8.  
  9. If you do specify a file without a directory, WRITE uses the MAIL-DIRECTORY, 
  10.   which is by default your home directory.

  12. The QUIT, EXIT, BYE, SUSPEND commands all do a WRITE to update the current
  13.   mail file, as you leave MM.  Some other MM operations or conditions also
  14.   also rewrite or may rewrite the current mail file.  Therefore you may 
  15.   never need to use WRITE.
