  1. QUIT  -  leave MM; suspend the process 
  2.  
  3. Usage:  QUIT
  4.  
  5. The QUIT command  rewrites the current mail file if it was modified, 
  6.   suspends the MM process,  and returns you to the shell.  Unlike the EXIT 
  7.   command, it does not expunge deleted messages.  You can continue the MM
  8.   process by typing mm to the shell.
  9.  
  10. The variable SUSPEND-ON-QUIT controls whether QUIT suspends MM.

  12. There are three ways to leave MM.  The defaults are:
  13.   EXIT    suspends MM    expunges deleted messages
  14.   QUIT    suspends MM    does not expunge
  15.   BYE    kills MM    asks whether to expunge
  16.  
  17. The command SUSPEND is very similar to QUIT.  SUSPEND always suspends,
  18.   but does not rewrite the mail file if there were only minor changes.
