  1. SEND  -  write a message and send it
  2.  
  3. Usage:  SEND [address]
  4.  
  5. Use the SEND command to write and address a message, as detailed below.
  6.   Then you can decide whether to send it or not.
  7.  
  8. Short description:
  9.   After typing "send", respond to four prompts:
  10.  
  11.     To: address
  12.     cc: address (optional)
  13.     Subject: a line of text 
  14.     Message... : text of message
  15.  
  16.   Press ESCAPE to finish typing the message.
  17.   You are then in SEND MODE; type "send" to send, or "quit" to abort;
  18.     or type "?" for a list of SEND MODE commands.

  20.   As an alternative, include an address with the command.  If you do, the 
  21.    "To" and "cc" prompts will not appear.

  23. At the prompts "To" and "cc", type the address(es) where you want to send
  24.   the message.  Use "To" for the main address(es) and "cc" for copies, for 
  25.   information, to additional people.  "cc" may be left blank.  For more
  26.   on writing addresses, type "help addressing".

  28. At the prompt "Subject", type a line of text.  The "subject" field appears
  29.   when you use the HEADERS command on mail you receive.  It can be left 
  30.   blank, but it is helpful to your readers to fill it in.

  32. At the prompt "Message...", type your message, as long as necessary.  
  33.   You are in TEXT MODE.  For more information, type "help text-mode".
  34.   At the end of the message, press ESCAPE (or control-d).

  36. At the prompt "Send>", you are in SEND MODE.  The basic choices are to SEND
  37.   the message or QUIT (not send it).  You can also review and modify the 
  38.   message first.  Type "?" at the Send> prompt for a list SEND MODE commands.
  39.   Type "help basic" and "help header-field" to see the principal SEND MODE
  40.   commands, and "help" followed by a command name for more information.
