- SOME NOTES ON USING SPLITMAIL WITH UUPC
-
- 1. Take the desired "big" message, and prepend a header similar to the
- following (make sure that there is at least one blank line between this
- header and the body):
-
- Date: Mon, 21 Nov 1983 11:31:54 PST
- From: blake@gstream.com
- To: nsb@thumper.bellcore.com
- Subject: Big message!
-
- You will obviously want to change each of these fields to be appropriate
- to your situation. Note the arpadate() format in the Date: line:
-
- 2. Run SPLITMAI on the file. It should generate multiple files "split.*"
- that are the pieces of the message.
-
- 3. Zap each of these files, and copy the "Date:" field from the top of the
- first message body to the first line of each message body. This is
- necessary before doing the next step.
-
- 4. Run the command "rmail -t -f" for each file. This will actually queue
- the mail to go, and you should be all done. As an alternative, you
- can use "rmail -t -F" for each file, and it will erase the specified
- file when it has sent it.
-
- 5. That's it!
