  3. This is the University of Minnesota's Internet Gopher distribution for
  4. UNIX machines.  Here's a breakdown by directory:
  5.  
  6. doc:          The documentation for all parts of the distribution.
  7.               Look here *first*.  Important files:
  8.                    INSTALL   -- Installation instructions
  9.                    *.changes -- Stuff that's changed from version to version
  10.                    *.doc     -- extra documentation.
  11.                    man pages, etc.
  12.  
  13. gopher:       The Internet Gopher Curses client.
  14.  
  15. gopherd:      The Internet Gopher data/directory/index/sound Server.
  16.  
  17. misc:         various shell scripts/gateways and such...
  18.  
  19. examples:     A directory ready to drop into a gopherd server
  20.               directory.  If you want the wais index you will have
  21.               to run the script build-index in the appropriate directory.
  22.  
  23. Please look in the directory "doc" for more information about installing
  24. the various portions of the Internet Gopher.  Specifically refer to
  25. the file INSTALL.
