  2.   What is ERB?  It is the initials of EDGAR RICE BURROUGHS!!  He is mostly
  3. remembered for the TARZAN books, but also for the MARS series and the VENUS
  4. series, and many individual novels.  I have tried to represent some of these
  5. works with these tiles, to varying degrees of success in my opinion. However,
  6. enjoy!!!  The following is an explanation of some of the more obtuse tiles.
  7. TILE 3  -The GREEN THARK is a Martian warrior about ten feet tall with four
  8.          arms.
  9.  "   5  -The U33 is the U-boat in THE LAND THAT TIME FORGOT.
  10.  "   9  -The VA-GA is a creature from THE MOON MAID resembling a Centaur.
  11.  "  10  -title of a novel, 30 degrees longitude.
  12.  "  12  -Barney Custer is the "hero" of THE MAD KING.
  13.  "  13  -WIEROO is a flying humanoid in THE LAND THAT TIME FORGOT.
  14.  "  15  -HELIUM is a city in the MARS stories.
  15.  "  17  -my initials in the alphabet ERB created for the VENUS novels.
  16.  "  18  -a Martian aircraft.
  17.  "  19  -as the result of a bet, Barney Custer had to wear a waste basket
  18.          on his head for a year, or a full beard for a year.
  19.  "  20  _refers to tile #10.
  20.  "  22  -VEPAJA is the name of a Venusian island continent.
  21.  "  23  -ERB wrote under the name Ed Burr early in his career.
  22.  "  24  -CASTLE BLENTZ from THE MAD KING.
  23.  "  25  -refers to the VENUS novels-MISSED MARS, HIT VENUS.
  24.  "  26  -PELLUCIDAR is ERB's world at the center of the earth.
  25.  "  28  - CARSON NAPIER of Venus
  26.  "  30  -TARZAN AND JANES'S tree house.
  27.  "  31  -B. Custer's car so important at the start of THE MAD KING.
  28.  "  33  -Possible shield design for THE OUTLAW OF TORN set in early England.
  29.  "  34  -"ERB" in the alphabet ERB created fot the VENUS novels.
  30.  "  35  -Important charcters, TARZAN, JOHN CARTER of MARS, CARSON NAPIER of
  31.          VENUS, and we can't forget TARZAN'S JANE.
