- ----------------
-
- In this game you are in the role of Walter Bumble, ship's cook
- of the "Supernova". You can determine his actions by clicking
- commands together.
-
- 1. Choosing Commands
- ------------------
- A command consits of a verb and one or two objects. To
- choose a verb you click on the corresponding verb in the
- command line. Then it will appear in the line above the
- command line which is the called sentence line. It
- contains the commands clicked together by you.
-
- You can choose an object in two different ways:
- * You click on an object in the graphics window. Important
- objects appear in the sentence line when driving over
- them with the mouse pointer.
- * You click on an object of your inventory. You can see
- your inventory at the downward border of the screen,
- containing all objects you are carrying. During the game
- you can carry as many objects as you want to. If you
- have more than eight objects, you will recognize arrows
- beneath the right side of your inventory. Use them to
- scroll the list.
-
- If you have chosen a verb and an object, the command will
- be executed.
- For example: Open hatch
- Look chessboard
- Get chessboard
- Look keycard
- You can try these examples directly in the room where you
- start.
-
- The verb "Use" sometimes demands two objects, and "Give"
- needs always two objects.
- For example: You are in the starting room.
- Choose the verb "Use" and the keycard from
- your inventory as an object. The sentence
- line will show: "Use keycard with". You can
- click now on the slot of the locker in the
- middle to open it.
-
- Further points to the commands:
- * After an command has been executed, the game switches
- back to the verb "Go to".
- * Some actions can be executed more simply by using the
- right mousebutton:
- - Opening and closing of hatches/doors
- - Pushing of buttons
- - Talking to other persons
- - Looking at objects
- Example: You want to open a closed hatch.
- Point with the mouse on the hatch and click the
- right mousebutton. The hatch opens.
- Click it again to close the hatch.
-
- If it is not obvious that an object can be opened, closed,
- pushed or talked to, the command "Look" will be executed
- when pressing the right mousebutton.
-
- 2. Movement
- ----------
- There are two ways to move around.
- * Click on a little box in the square at the lower right of
- the screen after having chosen the command "Go to". The
- little boxes symbolize the exits of the room you are in.
- * You can also click on an exit directly in the graphics
- window (e.g. an opened hatch).
-
- Important: In the graphics window are not necessarily all
- exits visible, so you can leave some locations only by
- using the boxes in the square.
-
- 3. Save/Restore
- --------------
- You can save or restore a game at nearly every point.
- By pressing F5 a menu appears. To save a game you choose
- one of the ten lines, enter a name and click on the
- "Save"-button.
-
- 4. Talking To Other Creatures
- -------------------------
- Later in the game you will meet other living beings. When
- talking to them you are offered different possibilities of
- asking and answering. Just choose one of them by clicking
- on it.
