  72. Ecopad(tm) is a text editor replacement for Windows Notepad which can
  73.  print up to 8 pages of text on one sheet of paper. Ecopad is compatible
  74.  with all True Type« fonts/point sizes and supports any printer that can
  75.  be used with Windows 3.1.

  78. Individual users and BBS's (including commercial BBS's) may distribute
  79. the files "ecopad24.zip" and "ecopad.zip" without
  80. restriction. Disk dealers and distributors please
  81. see the file "veninfo.diz".

  84. Ecopad requires Windows 3.1 and
  85. will also run without problems on Windows95 and Windows NT 3.51.

  88. Ecopad includes complete on-line help. You can also print the file
  89. "manual.wri" for a complete printed manual.

  92. To install Ecopad, simply create a directory for Ecopad program and
  93. copy all of the files in this package into it. You can then run
  94. Ecopad by double-clicking on it from Windows File Manager, or you
  95. can add an icon to a group in Program Manager or the the
  96. Windows95 Start Bar (for information on how to do this, refer to
  97. your Windows documentation).

  100. Benefits of Registration
  101. When you order Ecopad, you will receive a 3.5"" disk with the latest
  102. versions of the software (both 16 and 32-bit), along with a
  103. registration number which will prevent the software from shutting down
  104. after 20 days or 60 uses, whichever comes last. If the software has
  105. already expired, you can re-activate it with this number.
  106.  
  107. You can use your registration number to register all future versions of
  108. Ecopad (both 16 and 32 bit), so future updates are always free of
  109. charge (except for the cost of downloading).

  111. Caveats
  112.  
  113. 1.  Ecopad is not a replacement for Microsoft Word, so don't throw out
  114. your commercial word processor. Ecopad can load files that are pure
  115. text (these files usually have the extension ".txt"), and files created
  116. with the Windows Write word processor. Other kinds of files created
  117. with other word processes will look very strange if you try to load
  118. them into Ecopad. If you want to load/print a file created with another
  119. word processor, first save it as "ascii text" or "text", and then load
  120. it into Ecopad. See your word processor documentation for information
  121. on how to save a file as pure text.

  123. 2.  Although Ecopad can load files created with the Windows Write word
  124. processor, currently Ecopad does not attempt to remove embedded
  125. pictures or OLE objects when loading them. Therefore, if the Write file
  126. you are trying to load contains embedded pictures or OLE objects, you
  127. will get garbage characters where the pictures or objects would appear.

  129. Note also that Windows« Write files are always loaded as read-only, the
  130. original file is not changed in any way when loading/printing with
  131. Ecopad.
