  2. ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 1. About Mine ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ

  4. Mine is a game of skill and a race against the clock. The mine field is gridded 
  5. out into squares. The object of the game is to place flags on the mines and to 
  6. uncover the rest of the squares as quickly as possible. If you uncover a mine 
  7. you lose. The number on the left is the playing time in seconds. If it exceeds 
  8. 999 seconds, only 999 will be displayed. The number on the right is the number 
  9. of flags left to place. If the number goes negative, 0 will be displayed.

  11. Initially the field is completely covered. Below each square is either a blank 
  12. square, a number or a mine. A number indicates the number of mines that are 
  13. below adjacent squares. If you uncover a blank square the surrounding squares 
  14. will be automatically uncovered. 
  15.  
  16. If you suspect that there is a mine under a covered square, you can place a 
  17. flag on it. This will protect you from accidentally uncovering a mine since you 
  18. cannot uncover a square with a flag on it. The games is over when you uncover a 
  19. mine or when all the squares without mines have been uncovered.

  30. To start a new game choose New from the Game menu or press Ctrl+N. To uncover a 
  31. square click on it with the left mouse button. To place a flag on a square, 
  32. click on it with the right mouse button. To remove a flag, click on the 
  33. corresponding square with the right mouse button a second time. If Mark from 
  34. the Options menu is selected, removing a flag will leave a question mark on the 
  35. square which serves as a solving aid. To erase the question mark, click on the 
  36. corresponding square with the right mouse button again.

  38. You can choose the level of play by choosing Beginner, Intermediate or Expert 
  39. from the Options menu. You can also enter your own values for the number of 
  40. rows, columns and mines by choosing Custom.

  42. If you click the left mouse button and the right mouse button together over an 
  43. already uncovered square, the program will count the number of flags 
  44. surrounding it. If the count equals the number of adjacent flags, the remaining 
  45. covered squares will be uncovered.

  47. When the game is over and you have made a top score you are asked to enter your 
  48. name. Choose Hall of fame to display the hall of fame.
