  5.         This version includes some hidden features which
  6.         are described in the file experimental.txt
  7.         Some of these features are not enabled by default. Look at
  8.         experimental.txt for more info.

  10.         I just decided to release this version with some
  11.         incompletely implemented features disabled since
  12.         there are some new features required by a popular 
  13.         application. In addition there is also support
  14.         for the GUS MAX and the 16 bit sampling option of GUS.

  16.         The MSS/WSS support works now. At least with SG NX Pro 16.

  19. Linux 1.0 or later is required to by this driver version.

  21. Don't distribute binaries which use /dev/sequencer and are
  22. compiled with the soundcard.h of this version. They will
  23. not work with version 2.x of the driver.

  27. You will need the snd-util-2.5.tar.gz and snd-data-0.1.tar.Z
  28. packages to use this driver. They should be in the same
  29. ftp site or BBS from where you got this driver. For
  30. example at nic.funet.fi:pub/OS/Linux/*.

  35. Compatibility with the earlier versions

  38. This version is backward compatible with the version 2.X. All programs
  39. compiled with sys/soundcard.h of v2.X should work without problems.
  40. PROGRAMS COMPILED WITH THE sys/soundcard.h OF THIS VERSION WILL NOT
  41. WORK WITH v2.X DRIVER. BE CAREFUL WHEN DISTRIBUTING BINARIES COMPILED 
  42. FOR THIS VERSION.
