  6. Welcome to the Slackware Linux installation disk, version 2.0.1-tty!

  9. You will need one or more partitions of type "Linux native" prepared. It is 
  10. also recommended that you create a swap partition (type "Linux swap") prior to 
  11. installation. Most users can use the Linux "fdisk" utility to create and tag
  12. the types of all these partitions. OS/2 Boot Manager users, however, should
  13. create their root Linux partition with OS/2 "fdisk", add it to the Boot Manager
  14. menu, and then use the Linux "fdisk" to tag it as type "Linux native".  OS/2 
  15. users may make their non-root Linux partitions with Linux "fdisk".

  17. If you have 4 megabytes or less of RAM, you MUST ACTIVATE a swap partition
  18. before running setup. After making the partition with fdisk, use: 
  19.  
  20. mkswap /dev/<partition> <number of blocks> ; swapon /dev/<partition>
  21.  
  22. Once you have prepared the disk partitions for Linux, type "setup" to begin
  23. the installation process.

  25. You may now login as "root".
