  26. Installation Instructions and Help

  28.  The GrabIt Pro program files are in compressed format. You must run the
  29.  GPSETUP program to expand them before the program can be used.  The
  30.  setup program will create a Program Manager group and add the program
  31.  files and other important files to the group.

  33.  Step 1
  34.  Running The GPSETUP Program
  35.  ----------------------------
  36.  After extracting the GrabIt Pro ZIP file to either a directory on your hard
  37.  drive or to a floppy drive. Start Windows and make sure that the Windows
  38.  Program Manager is running.  You MUST run GPSETUP.EXE from the Windows Program 
  39.  Manager.

  41.  1. From the Program Manager File Menu choose Run...
  42.  2. Enter the location of the GPSETUP Program. If the files were on your
  43.     A: drive then you would enter: A:\GPSETUP and press Enter or Click on
  44.     the OK button.
  45.  3. The GrabIt Pro setup dialog will be displayed.
  46.  4. The edit field will display a suggested directory.
  47.  5. Press OK to accept the default directory or enter new destination
  48.     directory and press Enter or Click on the OK button.
  49.  6. The setup program will create the directory for you and display
  50.     the file installation progress.
  51.  7. When it has finished expanding and copying the files it will create
  52.     a new Program Manager Group and add the program files to the group.

  55.                   Important Information On Version 4.1

  59.  Important Note - First Time Startup
  60.  ************************************
  61.  The FIRST TIME you start GrabIt Pro it writes its configuration
  62.  information to disk and then EXITS to save it.  This is the only
  63.  time it will do this.  Many of you called to ask what happened
  64.  to the program after the first two Shareware information screens
  65.  were displayed. The answer is that the program ended!  Nothing is 
  66.  wrong with the program and all you have to do is re-start it.  
  67.  We opted for this route versus making you hit an OK button 
  68.  just to tell you that you will need to re-start the program.

  70.  The Users Manual
  71.  ----------------
  72.  The MANUAL.WRI file is the program user's manual. It has been 
  73.  carefully written and typeset in Windows Write format using Times New
  74.  Roman 10 Point Font and formatted for a laser printer.
  75.  All of the directions are written in an easy to follow 1 2 3 step format. 
  76.  Please take the time to read the manual before calling for technical support.

  78.  Version 4.1 Upgrade Information
  79.  -------------------------------
  80.  If you are a registered user of GrabIt Pro version 4.0, version 4.1
  81.  is a $5.00 upgrade IF you download it from our BBS.  If you want us to
  82.  mail you a disk then it is a $10.00 upgrade. You will HAVE to CALL
  83.  US at 602-375-9928 to get a new registration number for ver 4.1
  84.  Make sure that you have your current registration number ready when 
  85.  you call. You CAN'T get your new registration number without it!

  87.  New Features In Version 4.1

  89.  * Capture Directly To The Printer - Yes Print Screen For Windows!
  90.  
  91.  You can capture either the windows desktop, or a selected window capture 
  92.  directly to the printer.  At the same time the capture is also places 
  93.  into a child window so that you can save it to disk or re-print it if 
  94.  necessary.  This option is available in the registered version only.  
  95.  If you need this functionality and can't wait for the mail, registering
  96.  by phone will get you a registration number that will activate all of 
  97.  GrabIt Pro's functionality immediately.

  99.  * Image Scaling Options
  100.  You can now specify exactly how large or small to print an image on the 
  101.  currently selected paper in your printer.  In addition you can select the 
  102.  beat fit to page option which will do the calculations necessary for the
  103.  best possible quality printout  The third option lets you tell the printer
  104.  to stretch the image to fill the page completely with the image.  This option
  105.  is available in the registered version only.  If you need this functionality
  106.  and can't wait for the mail, registering by phone will get you a registration
  107.  number that will activate all of GrabIt Pro's functionality immediately.

  109.  * Drag and Drop Client
  110.  Now you can drag bitmap and rle files from file manager and drop them on
  111.  GrabIt Pro to open them.  GrabIt Pro makes a wonderful graphics clipboard
  112.  when you are working with a large number of images.  Open them in GrabIt Pro
  113.  child windows and copy them to other sources as needed.

  115.  * Right Mouse Button Menu
  116.  Now you can access the most often used functions by just clicking the right
  117.  mouse button on any GrabIt Pro child window.  You have the option of Opening
  118.  a file, Saving a file, Copy or Paste, and Print all at the click of the
  119.  right mouse button.

  121.  Remember To Use The System Menu 
  122.  -------------------------------
  123.  Remember that when GrabIt Pro is minimized ALL of the capture commands
  124.  are available from the system menu.  Just click once on the GrabIt Pro icon
  125.  at the bottom of your desktop to display the system menu.  This allows you
  126.  to capture images without having the GrabIt Pro window in your way.  When
  127.  you are done with a capture session restore GrabIt Pro to its normal size
  128.  window by double clicking on it.  All of your captures will be ready to view
  129.  with each capture in its own child window.

  131.  The register.txt file has complete registration information if you have any 
  132.  questions and the register.frm file is our software order form.

  136.  The documentation is now typeset in windows write format and gives a
  137.  complete description of each command available from the GrabIt Pro Menus.
  138.  The help file has been expanded and makes it extremely easy to find and get
  139.  help on any command you have a question about.
