  1. This client is a first stab at a win32 archie client.  It requires
  2. Windows 95 or Windows NT 3.51 to run.
  3.  
  4. To use it all you need to do is run the program.
  5.  
  6. New Features:
  7.  
  8. None.  This is a bug fix version, allowing the program to work with
  9. FTP Search servers.
  10.  
  11.  
  12. Support for FTP clients is still there.  Enter the FTP setup 
  13. dialog and make sure that you enter the full path and name of 
  14. the FTP program you use. 
  15.  
  16. The command line parameters are now in a seperate box but they still
  17. work the same way, namely with substitution strings.
  18.  
  19. Where the existing directory which holds ws_ftp32.exe is d:\ws_ftp,
  20. and where the existing directory for the to be received files is 
  21. ws_ftp\newfiles, in the Option->Ftp Setup, you would use the 
  22. following for the Command:
  23.     
  24. d:\ws_ftp\ws_ftp32 
  25.  
  26. and the following for the Parameters:
  27.  
  28. //%h/%d/%f local:d:\ws_ftp\newfiles\%f
  29.  
  30. %h will be substituted with the host name
  31. %d will be substituted with the remote directory name
  32. %f will be substituted with the remote filename.

  34. If you had it configured and working before, tough luck you will
  35. need to split the command and the parameters as I was too lazy
  36. to make the program work it out for itself.

  38. Directory expansion is now possible, probably best done with the right mouse
  39. button after selecting the directory that you wish to expand.

  41. The help file is not yet complete.  This will be improved over time.

  63. =============

  65. This instructions assume that you have some form of WINSOCK
  66. installed and working.

  68. 1. Unzip wsarch32.zip in a directory by itself. There should be two
  69. files altogether:

  71. wsarch32.exe    - this is the program itself.
  72. wsarch32.txt    - this file
  73.  
  74. Thats it.

  76. To use, enter your search term in the "Search for" field, and then
  77. press return, or select the Search button.
  78.  
  79. At the moment you wont see anything about how your query is 
  80. progressing until either it completes or times out, and no error 
  81. message is returned in the latter case!  These things will be added 
  82. in time, I just wanted to get something out before I go away for 
  83. Christmas!  I will be refining and adding functionality then.
