  1.             NetComm PC Card/PCMCIA Modem Installation for Windows 95

  4. The following procedure outlines the process for installing a PC Card (PCMCIA)
  5. modem under Windows 95.
  6.  
  7. -From the Start Menu choose Settings | Control Panel.
  8. -Double click on the "System" Icon.
  9. -Click in the "Device Manager" tab.
  10. -Double click on the "PCMCIA Socket" device.
  11. -Highlight the any "PCMCIA controller" from under the PCMCIA socket device.
  12. -Click the "Remove" button.
  13. -If Windows 95 asks you to restart your system click the "NO" button.
  14. -Double click the "Ports(COM & LPT)" device.
  15. -Highlight "Communications Port (COM 2)" if available.
  16. -Click on the "Remove" button.
  17. -If available Double click on the "Modems" device.
  18. -Highlight any "modems" listed.
  19. -Click the "Remove" button.
  20. -Click the "OK" button.
  21. -Restart your computer.

  23. -After restarting, from the Start button choose Settings|Control Panel.
  24. -Double click on the "Add New Hardware" Icon.
  25. -Click the "Next" button.
  26. -Select the "Yes (Recommended)" box.
  27. -Click the "Next" button.
  28. -The system should find a "PCIC compatible PCMCIA Controller" 
  29. -Click the "Finish" button.
  30. -Select the "No" box.
  31. -Click the "Next" Button.
  32. -Select the "No" box.
  33. -Click the "Next" button.
  34. -Click on the "Finish" button.
  35. -Select the "Driver provided from Hardware manufacturer" box.
  36. -Click the "OK" button.
  37. -Click the "Have Disk" button.
  38. -Ensure that this disk is in Drive A: (or appropriate drive).
  39. -Click on the "OK" button.
  40. -Select your modem from the list provided on the disk.
  41. -Click on the "OK" button.
  42. -Click on the "Finish" button.
  43. -Restart your computer.

  45. Your modem should now be configured for Windows95.
