  1.    Microsoft WFW/NT 3.51 Remote Access Drivers for NetComm Modems. Ver 0.8

  4. The drivers listed in this file are designed to cover all NetComm modem products.  
  5. To install the Modem.inf file do the following:
  6.  
  7. Windows for Workgroups Install:
  8. ==============================
  9.  
  10.    (1)     From DOS change into the "c:\windows\system"
  11.            directory by typing: cd \windows\system.
  12.  
  13.    (2)     Backup the original modem.inf by typing:
  14.            ren modem.inf modem.old
  15.  
  16.    (3)     Copy the new modem.inf into this directory by typing:
  17.            copy c:\temp c:\windows\system 
  18.            
  19.            (make sure you replace "temp" with the directory you 
  20.             extracted this file into).
  21.  
  22.    (4)     Ensure that in Windows Control Panel, Ports section that you
  23.            have selected 19200 Terminal Speed and Hardware Flow Control
  24.            in the Settings for the COM port your modem is plugged into.
  25.  
  26.    (5)     Run the RAS program and choose the new modem driver from
  27.            within the configure menu.
  28.  
  29. Windows NT 3.51 Install:
  30. ========================

  32.    (1)     From a DOS prompt change into the "c:\winnt\system32\ras"
  33.            directory by typing: cd \winnt\system32\ras
  34.  
  35.    (2)     Backup the original modem.inf by typing:
  36.            ren modem.inf modem.old
  37.  
  38.    (3)     Copy the new modem.inf into this directory by typing:
  39.            copy c:\temp c:\winnt\system32\ras 
  40.            
  41.            (make sure you replace "temp" with the directory you 
  42.             extracted this file into).

  44.    (4)     Ensure that in Windows Control Panel, Ports section that you
  45.            have selected Hardware Flow Control in the Settings for the 
  46.            COM port your modem is plugged into.

  48.    (5)     Run the RAS program and choose the new modem driver from
  49.            within the configure menu.

  53. The NetComm and Avtek modems are listed below by model number. Please check
  54. on the bottom of your modem to find the model number.  If your Modem is not
  55. a current model, it may not be in the list. If this is the case, select one
  56. of the Generic modems.
