- Difficulty Settings : Easy, normal, hard and nightmare.
- Please note that I've tried to keep
- the difficulty settings the same as
- those in the actual game maps, so
- "easy" is *very* easy, "normal"
- provides a bit of a challenge, and
- "hard" and "nightmare" are extremely
- difficult. The level is intended to
- be played on "nightmare" as that will
- provide the most entertainment.
- The map has been played multiple times
- on all difficulty settings, with no
- cheating, and *is* possible. The level
- has been designed with strategy in
- mind, so it's critically important to
- find the right way of approaching
- each area. The "berserker" approach
- will rarely work, if ever.

- This is a "sample" level from a new Quake episode entitled
- The Epoch Turning. It is the second level from the episode
- and has been released to "test the water". If you have any

- appreciate hearing from you if you enjoy playing it as it's
- always nice to be appreciated.

- To play this level, extract the file "pak0.pak" into your
- Quake directory and then start the game using the command
- "QUAKE -GAME ." (without the quotation marks). Type
- "MAP EPOCH" at the console and you'll find yourself on a
- small, simple map with four teleports, one for each
- difficulty setting. Walk through one of the teleports and
- you'll be taken to The Guardhouse.

- name GUARD.BSP and is supplied in a zip file called GUARD.ZIP
