  72.      the Internet.  From a gopher site like this one you can find
  73.      all other gopher sites.  Find the educational gopher site from
  74.      the AskERIC gopher below, CICNet, a wonderful Internet
  75.      compilation of all (or most) K-12 related Internet resorces.

  94.      A very powerful and easy to use method of navigating the
  95.      Internet.  Many people believe that someday much of the
  96.      Internet will look like this.  Use tab or the cursor arrows to
  97.      move from selection to selection if using a shell account,
  98.      point and click on the selection of your choice if you are
  99.      using mosaic or SLIP software in Windows.  The selections will
  100.      take you to gopher sites, archives, libraries, etc.

  124. Gophers by telnet:  
  125.      Gopher is a program that gives the user a menu which leads the
  126. user through the Internet.  It was named gopher because it was
  127. developed at the University of Minnesota and it "goes for" the
  128. information selected in the menu.  Gopher sites are ubiquitous on
  129. the Internet now and make the Internet easy to use.
  130.      The gopher program can be used two ways.  1. type 'gopher' at
  131. your command prompt and a gopher menu will appear.  You then use
  132. this menu to go about the Internet.  The user may mail any desired
  133. files back to his/her home account.  2. type 'gopher' at the
  134. command prompt followed by a gopher site address, just like telnet
  135. is used.  All gopher sites can be reached this way, and some gopher
  136. sites can be reached by using telnet, although these are fast
  137. disappearing.  Gopher sites by telnet are disappearing because
  138. gopher clients are becoming so common that telnet is no longer
  139. needed.  A client is the program that runs on the same computer as
  140. your electronic account and enables you to run or use the program. 
  141. The entire Internet is accessible via gopher.

  143.      Use gophers to access government databases, universities and
  144.      their libraries, National Institute of Health, White House
  145.      information, game sites, other nations, ad infinitum.  The
  146.      list of places to access is endless.  Try them out to see how
  147.      they work and what you can find.

  150.      gophers lead to all other gophers as well as everywhere else
