  45.         CONTEST RULES

  47.         To enter, send a floppy disk (either size) with your RECORDS.SF3
  48.         file(s) to PMP Software Records Contest, PO Box 18691, Saint Louis 
  49.         MO  63118.  A sample entry form is at end of this file.

  51.         You can also enter via email by sending your RECORDS.SF3 file(s)
  52.         and ENTRY.FRM info to the PMP software email address.  If you enter 
  53.         via email and win a free update, you'll get the update sent quickly 
  54.         by email.

  56.         Entries must be postmarked on or before January 10.  If sent by 
  57.         email, the date must be January 10 or earlier.  No forged date 
  58.         info!  If you're reading this after January 1997, there's probably
  59.         another year of the contest but you might want to check to make
  60.         sure.

  64.         You may enter as often as you like, but multiple instances of the 
  65.         same record will only be counted once.

  67.         PMP Software members and their families are not eligible.
  68.         Employees and immediate families of sponsors of this contest
  69.         are not eligible for prizes offered by that sponsor.

  71.         A record can be set at a world created with the SCARYFISH Make 
  72.         Your Own Worlds utility, with the exception of the following  
  73.         categories:  Most Fish, Most Of A Species, Most Points, and Most  
  74.         Species.  Results will have a * by the world name to indicate a 
  75.         user-created world if the category is not eligible.  This prevents 
  76.         people from making worlds just for the purpose of breaking records.  
  77.         User-created worlds in the User Worlds I and II _are_ eligible for 
  78.         those categories, though.
  79.  
  80.         You don't have to be registered, but the superior action at the 
  81.         registered user worlds would probably increase your chance of 
  82.         winning a prize.  See "Registration/Ordering Info" from the game's 
  83.         main menu or the file ORDER.FRM.

  85.         Not responsible for lost or misdirected entries, or if your records
  86.         file(s) are unreadable.

  88.         You can send multiple records files on the same disk (ex. running 
  89.         the game on machines at home and work, and you have impressive 
  90.         records on both), but give them different names like 'RECORDS.1', 
  91.         'RECORDS.2', etc. so they don't get overwritten.

  93.         In the case of a tie between different characters, a computer-
  94.         generated random number will pick one winner, with each tied 
  95.         contestant getting equal chance of winning.  For multiple instances 
  96.         of the exact same character/record combination, the one with a
  97.         corresponding transcript file will be considered authentic.  
  98.         Sending in multiple copies of the same record will NOT increase 
  99.         your odds of winning!  For the "Most 2nd place records", the total
  100.         counts ties as a fraction, i.e. a 2-way tie is .5, a 4-way is .25.

  102.         PMP Software reserves the right to refer to a winning contestant as 
  103.         "Anonymous" if the character name is profane or might otherwise be
  104.         considered offensive.  Ditto for user-created world names.
  105.  
  106.         How to see the list of winners and their impressive records:
  107.         1) Get the next version of SCARYFISH.
  108.         2) Send SASE to PMP Software and indicate you want results list.
  109.         3) Email PMP Software requesting the results list or download it
  110.            from the PMP Software online sites listed in READ.ME.
  111.  
  112.         Hacked or otherwise forged entries will be disqualified.
  113.  
  114.         Second Prize winners will get only one free update, even if they set 
  115.         multiple 2nd Prize records.
  116.  
  117.         In the event that no record is set (possible with categories where
  118.         the program maintains only one record), no Second Prize will be 
  119.         awarded for that specific record.  For categories with multiple
  120.         records, you don't necessarily have to beat the preset #1 record 
  121.         to win.
  122.  
  123.         To clarify the "Most 2nd prizes" record, that is for one character
  124.         on one disk (can include the same character on two records files).
  125.         Automatic 2nd prizes from a Grand or First Prize are not included
  126.         in the total: #1 of Top 20, biggest of that species, IFGA for that 
  127.         line class; Most Points for the session; Most Fish for the session.

  130.         Notes:
  131.  
  132.         Use DOS or your favorite file manager to copy the records file(s)
  133.         onto the floppy you'll be sending to enter the contest.  Example 
  134.         with the game on a C: hard drive in the directory C:\SCARY2 and a 
  135.         virus-free, formatted floppy in drive A:
  136.                 C:> CD\SCARY2
  137.                 C:\SCARY2> COPY RECORDS.SF3 A:\
  138.         If you run the game from a floppy, you probably want to copy the
  139.         records file(s) from the game disk to a new floppy to be sent in,
  140.         as opposed to sending in your game disk.

  142.         List your character name(s) on the entry form.  If the records were
  143.         not "blank" from where you got the game, don't try to claim other
  144.         people's records as your own.  They probably have transcripts 
  145.         proving they're the real one.
