-
- General
- -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Q: How many members are there in [JMJ] Productions
- A: I used to be the only one who released my programs as [JMJ] Productions.
- Visor is the first program that isn't written by me and which is also
- released under the name [JMJ] Productions. SprEdit, which is a Sprite Editor
- written by THS, will also be released.
- With my First Officer Byron also programming things for/with me from time to
- time, that makes three members (the senior officers of USS Aurora).
-
- Q: Can I be a beta tester ?
- A: Probably not. At the moment I have only one beta tester. The reason ? I had
- some troubles with some people in the past, beta versions being passed on,
- being hacked (why someone wants to hack FREEWARE is beyond my imagination,
- but it happened... That fine PCBored attitude at work...)
- However, for some programs, I need more people. If I need more beta testers,
- I'll announce it in one of the ProBoard message areas I have (PROBOARD,
- PROBOARD.029 or on TGPBN)
-
- Q: Can I be a distribution/support site ?
- A: Nope. I don't use them anymore, for the same reason as I stopped using more
- than 1 regular beta tester. Too many people just want to add another line
- to their login ANSI, they collect Dist Sites just for the status.
- Besides, I think that anyone who wants any of my programs has enough options
- to get them (FREQ, BBS, WWW, TGPBN)
-
- Q: Where can I get your programs ?
- A: If you have access to the World Wide Web, you can get them at my homepage
- on http://www.dma.be/p/bewoner/jmj/
-
- I will always hatch my new programs through TGPBN, they will be the first
- to get my programs. If someone wants to hatch it in another net, fine by me,
- but I'm not going to do it myself. I would appreciate it if you would let me
- know if you hatch something.
- Not to cause any net wars, but in my opinion TGPBN is the way to go. One net
- with nodes all over the world, and an accessible net, not one where the
- coordinators refuse to even acknowledge your netmails. For Belgian sysops
- who want to connect to TGPBN, contact me using one of my addresses.
-
- And of course all files are available (on the first call) to users of my
- BBS, and can be FREQed on one of my addresses. See the "Addresses" section
- of this document for the data.
-
- Q: Will your upload scanner ever be made public ?
- A: No. BioFilter is strictly for USS Aurora only, I don't want to be responsible
- for the safety of other people's systems.
- Besides, there are lots of better upload scanners out there (some of them
- even free).
-
- Q: Will you ever make an editor ?
- A: Since ProBoard 2.15 includes its own editor, there's no need for it in my
- opinion. I might finish the one I started if I'm REALLY bored, but don't
- wait for it.
-
- Q: When will [any program] be finished ?
- A: When it's ready. I program in bursts, for instance, JMJLine was written in
- 1 hour, then left alone for 2 weeks, and then I added some small options.
- And even when the program itself is finished there's still the @#!? job of
- writing the docs.
-
- Q: Can I have the source to [any program] ?
- A: Nope. All my ProBoard utilities will always remain Freeware, but I don't
- give away my sources. Too much time got into them to see 10 ripped versions
- the next day.
-
- Q: How can I disable [boolean option] in [any program] ?
- A: The INI file reading routines I use only look for the existance of the
- keyword when it's a boolean value (like TimeOutEliza in ComBadge).
- To disable such an option, comment it out by putting a ';' in front of it.
-
- Q: Can you help me with my PEX ?
- A: Sure... Just ask me anything you want, provided that it's a reasonable
- question. But remember that I'm not your personal code robot.
-
- Q: How old are you ?
- A: I was born on 29 July 1976, you can do the math.
-
- Q: Can you recommend any books for someone who wants to start with PEXes ?
- A: All I can recommend is know your basics well. My own code has improved a
- LOT since I read a book on the quirks of C compared to other languages.
-
- Q: Can I have a copy of your language file ?
- A: Nope. I put too much time and effort in it to see other sysops take
- advantage of my work.
-
- Q: Can I use your docs and/or file_id.diz as a template for my own ?
- A: NO ! Like the programs, they are copyrighted by me.
-
-
- TheMin
- -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Q: Will TheMin get cursor key support ?
- A: It's possible. No promises here...
-
- Q: Will there be a new version ?
- A: Yup... At this moment I am working on TheMin 2.1
- Please don't ask me for a feature list, you'll see what's new when it's
- released.
-
- Q: Will there be a multiline version ?
- A: Probably. Again, no promises.
