  2. RECOVERY PROCEDURES IF YOU ENCOUNTER "BLOCK ERASE ERROR 27" DURING THE FLASH
  3. PROCEDURE FOR THE 9/20/96 CODE REVISION.

  5. STEPS:
  6. ------
  7. 1. Try flashing the modem back with the 1/23/96 (12396.EXE) file.  This file
  8.    was self-extracted when you ran the USRSDL.EXE file.
  9. 2. If step one fails, power the modem off and set dips switches as follows:
  10.  
  11.     EXTERNAL MODEMS                          INTERNAL MODEMS
  12.     -----------------                        ----------------
  13.     1 -  ON                                   1 -  ON
  14.     5 -  ON                                   5 -  ON
  15.     10 - ON                                   7 -  ON
  16.     All other dip switches should be OFF      10 - ON
  17.                                               All other dips should be OFF
  18.  
  19. 3. Power modem back on and start flash procedure again. If the flash back is
  20.    successful you will still need to send the modem in for warranty repair at
  21.    your convenience.

  23. *** If steps 2 & 3 fail you will need to contact US Robotics Courier Support
  24.     at 800-550-7800 and select Option 3 when prompted for a Service Repair
  25.     Order(SRO).
