- Data Fix
- ───────────────
-
- Contained within this archive are the following files:
-
- DATAFIX.VM - The Program
- DATAFIX.CFG - Small Configuration file
-
- This program will format the users phone numbers (those given by the user)
- to your liking (as the sysop) and will also correct any spelling in the
- users city, as per your settings in the config file. It will also request
- the users gender and birthdate if they are blank in the user file.
-
- ─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
-
- Installation
- ────────────
-
- Copy the VM file into the directory where you keep your MEX programs
- (ie: C:\Max\m).
- Copy the CFG file into your system directory and edit it as follows:
-
- Line 1: The format string to adjust all phone numbers to
- ie: (###)###-#### or (###) ###-#### or ###-###-####
- or anything to your liking.
- Line 2: Your local Area code.
- Line 3 to Line whatever is required:
-
- Exchange, a space, and the location (city) for that exchange.
-
- ie: 555 Directory, Assistance
- 561 Hamilton, Ontario
- etc...
-
- Use 1 line per exchange and list all the exchanges in your area.
- If the program finds the exchange in the phone number, it will
- adjust the location to that which follows it on the same line.
-
- Then edit both your welcome.mec and rookie.mec file and add:
-
- [MEX]C:\Max\m\Datafix
-
- compile the files and it's ready to start formating and collecting
- information.

- Source Code & Support
- ─────────────────────
-
- I choose not to include my source code in distribution archives. While
- these programs are not crippled in any way, I like people to acknowledge
- my work by sending either a small fee for the source or a note to say
- thanks for a great program.
-
- For the source files/updates to be delivered to you directly, a charge
- of $2.00 Canadian for the program, should be sent to the author. This
- is not some get rich quick scheme, but rather offsets the costs of
- distribution, and phone calls to deliver the product to you. If you
- have the source, you can easily change the program to suit your needs,
- be it language, output, colour, or use it to learn more about MEX
- programming.
-
- To Recieve the Updates/Source, send a cheque or money order (please no
- cash), in Canadian funds to:
-
- Greg Foley
- 21 Greenford Drive
- Hamilton, Ontario,
- Canada, L8G-2G4
-
