  3. OVERVIEW
  4. HyperView is an easy-to-use browser solution for webdesigners and anyone
  5. using hypertext documents. A front-end for Microsoft Internet Explorer,
  6. HyperView lets you navigate and browse your local webfiles easier
  7. than ever before.

  9. HyperView is very easy to use. Simply select a folder and file in the
  10. navigation menu to view it in the main browser and source window.
  11.  
  12. For fast navigation, use the keyboard arrow keys to swiftly browse
  13. through the filelist.
  14.  
  15. Since HyperView uses Internet Explorer as its internal browser,
  16. you will not miss a thing. You'll get Java, frames, tables and all
  17. the other features supported by the Internet Explorer version installed
  18. on your system. You can even right-click the browser window to open
  19. Internet Explorer's popup menu.

  21. NAVIGATION
  22. The navigation menus provides you with the same functionality as
  23. Windows Explorer.  In addition to browsing your files, you can perform
  24. regular file operations. Simply right-click any file or folder to access
  25. move, copy, delete and other well-known options.

  27. To open a file with its associated program, just double-click.

  29. SUPPORTED FILETYPES
  30. HyperView lets you browse files with the following extensions:
  31. *.htm, *.html, *.dhtml *.shtml, *.gif, *.jpg, *.jpeg, *.txt, *.pl and *.cgi.

  33. You cannot view source of image files or external documents (opened from the Web).   
  34.  
  35. SOURCE EDITING
  36. In the source-view, you can easily edit your documents. Make your changes, and
  37. click the Save-button. You can also print the source using the print button.
  38. Notice that HyperView is in no way intended to replace your regular html- or
  39. text-editor. For serious work, you should use a suitable program like
  40. Allaire HomeSite or Microsoft FrontPage.

  42. The size of your files is only limited by system resources.

  44. Notice: Be careful when editing cgi-scripts (*.pl and *.cgi).
  45. HyperView will only save documents using Windows file format.
  46. This will probably cause problems if you're editing scripts
  47. intended for use on a Unix webserver.

  49. CONFIGURATION
  50. There's no need for any configuration of HyperView.
  51. However, all window sizes, current working folder, etc.
  52. are saved between program sessions.

  54. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
  55. HyperView requires Microsoft Internet Explorer version 3.01
  56. or later installed on your system. For best performance,
  57. IE 4.x is recommended.
