  3. This directory contains the Unicode Character Database
  4. data files.

  6. Currently, the Unicode Character Database files are at
  7. the version level:

  9.    Unicode Standard, Version 4.0.0

  15. Detailed documentation of the files constituting the
  16. Unicode Character Database (contributory data files for
  17. the standard itself) can be found in UCD.html.

  19. Unihan.txt is a very large file and is unchanged from
  20. its Unicode 3.2.0 version. A zipped version is
  21. also provided for downloading convenience: Unihan.zip.

  23. The current Unicode 3.2.0 version of Unihan.txt is also available in
  24. two compressed formats in the Unicode 3.2.0 update directory. See:

  29. Unihan-3.2.0.zip for Windows. (Use winzip)
  30. Unihan-3.2.0.txt.gz  for Unix.    (Use gzip or gunzip)

  32. Note that the files are zipped in
  33. exactly the same format they have on the server (with Unix
  34. line endings). From a browser, right-clicking on 
  35. Unihan-3.2.0.zip will allow automatic download and unzip on a
  36. Windows system with winzip installed.
