Newsgroups are a collection of e-mail messages from thousands of users, grouped by subject.
In E-mail, you write private messages to one specific person. In newsgroups, your e-mail is public. Anyone in that group can read your message, and reply to you or the whole group. There are THOUSANDS of groups, usually distinguished by topics.

Information that you post in newsgroups are viewed by thousands of people, not all of them are honest. Be sure you do not give out personal information. Especially, your name, address or phone number. Keep it as anonymous as you can and have fun.
