This is an Action that allows you to download files with NetFinder by selecting text with FTP URLs and then control clicking that selection to bring up a Contextual Menu.
Requirements:
Apple Data Detectors currently work with PowerPC systems running MacOS 8. This may be extended to 68K systems and/or earlier versions of the MacOS in the future. You can check by visiting Apple's MacOS web page at <http://macos.apple.com/>
Of course, you'll also need to have NetFinder installed.
Installation:
To install this Apple Data Detector Action:
[1] open the "Apple Data Detectors" control panel (located in the Control Panels folder which is accessible from the Apple menu)
[2] select "Install Action File…" from the File menu
[3] locate the "Download FTP with NetFinder" Action which is located in the same folder as this Read Me
[4] in the Apple Data Detectors control panel, open the FTP item and then put a check in the "Download with NetFinder" checkbox to enable the Action
[5] that's all there is to it! Start selecting text and control-clicking it. You do not need to restart your Mac.
