During the death rites in some parts of the Amazon, mourners ritualistically mimic attacks against the house of the deceased, perhaps as a kind of sympathetic magic. Then, they dance and engage in mock intercourse until, finally, the ceremony ends in an orgy.
According to some African stories, when there's a death, the corpse is fastened to a post around which the mourners dance for three days and three nights while consuming vast quantities of palm wine. The three day mourning period culminates in a grand orgy.
