In the 6th century, Taoist communities were organized into monasteries as a result of the influence of Buddhism. Marriage and all lasciviousness were taboo. But writings of the time openly give accounts of sexual liaisons between monks and prostitutes.
Thus, despite the new rules, some of the Taoist techniques of love continued to be practiced!
