The Hebrew myth of Lilith departs from the usual depictions of love found in Genesis. Lilith's dark, erotic story is also recounted in Babylonian, Chaledean, and Assyrian legend. The Bible prefers the story of Eve, a woman emerging from the rib of man. Central texts of the Bible as well as the mystical Cabbala warn against the dangers of some women, and sometimes women in general.
