- Games Included in the Self-Extracting File KGAME1.EXE
- =====================================================
-
- There are three games included in set #1:
-
- ALAGAR 16 (tm)
- MIRROR MAZE (tm)
- NUMBERS (tm)
-
- ALAGAR 16 is a game of strategy and is played on a "board" similar
- to chess or checkers.
-
- MIRROR MAZE is a game of deduction. There are hidden mirrors, and
- you discover their positions by firing laser beams into the maze
- and seeing where the beams emerge.
-
- NUMBERS is a hand-eye coordination game that is "timed" against
- previous "fast times."
-
- Page 1
-
-
- The documentation (instructions) for each game is included in help
- text that is a part of each game.
-
- The shareware versions differ from the purchased/registered
- versions in that the "New Game" command in shareware versions is
- disabled. All other features are fully enabled so you can get a
- complete feel for each game in the set.
-
- All the games are written in Visual Basic version 2.0 and require
- Windows 3.1 or better to run.
-
- Starting the Games in Windows
- =============================
-
- Using Run to Start the Games
- ----------------------------
-
- The games can be played without "installing" them in windows:
-
- In the Program Manager, under File, select Run. Then:
-
- to play ALAGAR 16, type \kodeshar\a16share <Enter>
-
- to play MIRROR MAZE, type \kodeshar\mirshare <Enter>
-
- to play NUMBERS, type \kodeshar\numshare <Enter>
-
- After the game starts up, activate help by clicking on the Help
- command.
-
- To select a topic, click on the desired topic in the Topic Box.
- Topics are listed alphabetically.
-
- Scroll the Text Box to read all the text.
-
- When you're finished using help, click on the Exit Help command or
- use <Esc> to return to the game.
-
- The main rule to playing the games (other than to have fun) is:
- When in doubt, try it out! The games are friendly. You can't hurt
- anything and you'll learn faster that way.

-
-
- Using File Manager to Start the Games
- -------------------------------------
-
- Activate the File Manager. Locate and select the directory
- kodeshar. Then, in the file box:
-
- to play ALAGAR 16, double click on the file a16share.exe
-
- to play MIRROR MAZE, double click on the file mirshare.exe
-
- to play NUMBERS, double click on the file numshare.exe
-
- Clicking on Icons to Start the Games
- ------------------------------------
-
- To click on an icon to start the games instead of using Run, or the
- File Manager, means the games have to be included in a group.
-
- If you already have a group defined that you'd like to install the
- games into, skip down to the section on "Including the Games".
- Otherwise, define a new group.
-
- Defining A Group
- ----------------
-
- 1. At Program Manager, under File, select New
- 2. Click on Program Group
- 3. Click on OK
- 4. In Description, type Kode Share Games
- 5. Click on OK
- 6. Close the new group
-
- Including the Games
- -------------------
-
- You'll have to go through steps 1 - 7 for each game you want to
- insert into a group:
-
- 1. At Program Manager, click once on the group you want to insert
- the games into. This selects the group.
- 2. At Program Manager, under File, select New
- 3. Click on Program Item
- 4. Click on OK
- 5. In Description, type the name of the game you are inserting
- (ALAGAR 16, MIRROR MAZE, or NUMBERS)
- 6. Tab to Command Line and type in the directory path and file name
- for the game you are inserting:
- \kodeshar\a16share.exe for ALAGAR 16
- \kodeshar\mirshare.exe for MIRROR MAZE
- \kodeshar\numshare.exe for NUMBERS
- 7. Click on OK
