  11. System Requirements
  12. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  13. Two versions of SWIV appear on this CD, a Windows95 
  14. native version and a DOS version. The Windows95 version 
  15. uses DirectX (See Below) - if you have problems with 
  16. the DirectX drivers, we suggest you try the DOS version
  17. as this will run fine in a Windows95 DOS Box.

  19. For Windows95 run INSTALL.EXE
  20.  
  21. For DOS run DOSINST.EXE
  22.  
  23. The Recommended specification of the DEMO is a 
  24. Pentium 90 or greater.
  25.  
  26. The DEMO version has not been optimised and therefore 
  27. the final version will run considerably faster.
  28.  
  29. MMX optimised code is not implemented in this version.

  31. Controls
  32. ~~~~~~~~
  33. If you have a mouse or Joystick plugged in the game 
  34. will allow you to select your preferred input device.

  36. The default keys are as follows:

  53. The DOS version supports analogue joysticks, Gravis 
  54. Gamepad and Creative Blaster Gamepad.
  55.  
  56. The Windows95 version supports the above products and 
  57. other DirectInput compatible devices. The appropriate 
  58. Joystick driver for Windows95 (supplied by the 
  59. manufacturer) must be installed and calibrated before 
  60. starting SWIV.

  62. CDAudio
  63. ~~~~~~~
  64. The audio soundtrack is a CD-A track and due to driver
  65. limitations volume control is not available on all
  66. machines.

  68. Windows95 & DirectX
  69. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  70. Even though Windows95 can have multiple tasks running,
  71. more resources are used - to get the best performance
  72. from SWIV exit as many programs as possible, before
  73. running the game.

  75. Do not attempt to switch tasks when SWIV is running as
  76. this is not currently supported.
  77.  
  78. SWIV makes use of the DirectX drivers for Windows95 
  79. from Microsoft. However as this is relatively new 
  80. technology drivers may not exist or be 100% compatible 
  81. on your machine. If you experience problems we suggest 
  82. you contact your hardware manufacturer who may have 
  83. updated drivers or use the DOS version.
