- Production Tips for Professional Draw Power Users
-
- In order to get real performance from your genies, you must be
- able to run them from keyboard short-cuts. This is done in your
- Genie menus. Simply highlight the genie and hit "KEYS". You are
- prompted to hit the keys you would like to be associated with
- that genie. The keys that qualify for this are in your
- "Professional Draw 3.0 Supplement Manual" on page 25.
-
- For ultimate speed, power, and performance you can turn a Star Teck
- Genie into a tool genie (also see installation instructions for
- this procedure). A tool genie is run by simply double clicking on
- one of the tools on the right side of Professional Draw's screen.
- Three of these tools have been left vacant by Gold Disk for this
- purpose. THIS IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FOR THREE OF THESE GENIES.
-
- The three recommended genies are:
-
- "GridSet.pdrx"
- "ScalePercent.pdrx"
- "ZoomWindow.pdrx"
-
- After installation, they will be located in your REXX: drawer.
- All you have to do is copy or rename them to:
-
- "_PD_TOOLS_ADDP.pdrx"
- "_PD_TOOLS_CUTP.pdrx"
- "_PD_TOOLS_FREE.pdrx"
-
- or use the InstallGenies program to do this for you.
-
- After doing this you can call these genies by just double
- clicking the mouse on either the "Add Points Tool", "Cut
- Points Tool" or "Free Hand Drawing Tool".

-
- - upside down -1.0000 -0.3820 5
- star
-
- - inside out 1.0000 -1.0000 4
- stop sign
-
- - stop sign 1.0000 1.0000 4
- (after running the genie,
- you will have to rotate the stop sign 22.5 degrees)

- Working Environment
- Workbench 2.04 and up.
- Non AGA Amigas
-
- Wouldn't it be nice to be able to view a whole Professional Draw
- page all at once on your screen at a magnification of 1.
- Unfortunately you would need a very large monitor and new screen
- resolution not provided by your Amiga.
-
- However, there is an alternative to this. If you have chip memory
- to spare you can specify your workbench to be oversize. This is
- done in your "Prefs" drawer. Double click on "SceenMode" and a
- requester will open. Change the "height" to 1000 and make the
- "width" as wide as your monitor can display. Turn on "autoscroll,"
- and then close the requester by selecting "use" or "save." You may
- have to close any other programs down that are currently running
- to do this. When you are successful you will then be able to scroll
- around your over-sized workbench by just dragging your mouse. Now
- highlight your PDraw icon (single mouse click), choose "Information"
- from the "Icons" menu at the top. Change "SCREEN=CUSTOM" to
- "SCREEN=WORKBENCH" and then select save. Now run ProDraw. Double
- click on the magnification tool, enter 1 in the requester (or just
- hitthe #1 key). Drag the bottom right corner of the ProDraw window
- to or near the bottom of your workbench window. You can now easily
- view a whole page at a magnification of 1 by just dragging your
- mouse up and down.
