  3.                           MIoutline 1.0a

  5. MIoutline is a new converter package from Mirror Image Productions
  6. which converts Mac and IBM Type 1 fonts into Professional Draw
  7. outline fonts.
  8.  
  9. Here are some of MIoutline's features:
  10.  
  11. · Converts any Macintosh or IBM Type 1 PostScript printer font
  12. (commercial or public domain!) into a completely compatible
  13. Professional Draw outline font. These fonts may then be
  14. manipulated using any of PDraw's drawing tools. Create your own
  15. logos and special type!

  17. · Complete conversion of all Type 1 characters and all characters
  18. converted are accessible from within PDraw.
  19.  
  20. · Translations are completely true to the original characters.
  21. All straight lines are converted as straight lines, not curves
  22. masquerading as straight lines.
  23.  
  24. · Kerning tables are derived from a click on the font's AFM file.
  25. Or, if you have used MIfont (Mirror Image's PostScript screen
  26. font converter) to convert the font's bitmaps, the kerning
  27. information is retrieved automatically from its .metric file.

  29. · Having trouble finding the emdash or remembering where the
  30. "scissors" symbol is in Zaph Dingbats? MIoutline's Visual Index
  31. feature will create a handy chart (directly to your laser printer
  32. or to disk) showing a font's complete character set, their
  33. PostScript names and the key combinations used to call them from
  34. within PDraw.  You'll find the Visual Index feature invaluable
  35. for keeping track of special symbol font characters, looking up
  36. hard-to-remember key combinations or you can use it to create
  37. your own type spec catalog!

  39. · You don't have access to a PostScript printer? Not to worry.
  40. Also included is a PDrawSampler utility which instantly displays
  41. any PDraw font's outline characters and the key combinations to
  42. call them, on screen!

  44. · Extremely easy to use interface. Just click on the printer font
  45. in MIoutline's lightning-fast file selector and watch the
  46. conversion. No path or file names to type!
