  9. Award-winning artist Monika Livingstone was born in Tampa, 
  10. Florida, but has spent most of her life on the West Coast.  
  11. Even at an early age, her artistic tendencies were
  12. apparent.  From crayons and water colors, to inking and 
  13. airbrushing, it seems she has always had a drawing or painting 
  14. tool in her hands.
  15.  
  16. Although she is mostly known for her airbrush and cartoon work, 
  17. she is also highly skilled as an illustrator and fine artist.  
  18. She has been exhibiting her artwork in science-fiction/fantasy 
  19. convention art shows since the early 1980's, and has won several 
  20. awards in those shows.  Her fresh and unique approach has made 
  21. her a favorite among many fans
  22.  
  23. Monika rose to national fame in the mid-1980's for her work in 
  24. the comic book industry.  She has worked with several companies 
  25. including DC, Marvel, Eclipse, Fantagraphics, Viz, and Thoughts & 
  26. Images on a variety of different titles.  One of these titles, 
  27. "Rufus The Red," was her own creation.

  29. Monika has also gained experience designing and painting display 
  30. signs for Tower Records, and golf course benches for Benchcraft. 
  31. She has done custom work for a variety of clients that includes 
  32. record album covers, advertising art, corporation officers' 
  33. portraits, banners, corporate magazine covers, truck and car 
  34. detailing, and more.  Her custom airbrushing of T-shirts (and 
  35. other clothing) has become well known not only on the West Coast, 
  36. but nationally and internationally as well.

  38. With knowledge received from college and private tutoring, as 
  39. well as years of practical work experience, Monika has also 
  40. given some of her talent back by serving as an instructor for 
  41. the Multnomah Advertising Art School and the National Airbrush 
  42. Institute Seminar.  She has also given private instruction in 
  43. airbrushing and drawing techniques.

  45. From humor to nature, from fantasy to drama, her dynamic style 
  46. allows Monika Livingstone to cross over between artistic 
  47. categories.  Sometimes whimsical, often powerful, her work is 
  48. always first class art.
